Protection of Personal Information
XiTi.com has adopted a transparency charter with regard to protecting the private information of internet users.
XiTi.com is a remote marker web analytic. Sites using the system can collect anonymous statistical data on their visitors to improve the quality of their services and the ergonomics of their site. It is used by senior corporate departments, as well as marketing, editorial and technical departments.
XiTi.com is published by AT INTERNET, a company specialized in audience technologies since 1996. More than 275,000 sites (may 07) use its services. For more information on AT INTERNET: www.atinternet.com.
Some XiTi versions, in addition to the JavaScript marker, may also use “cookies”.
What is a “cookie”?
A "cookie" is a text file that records information related to your computer's internet navigation. It is controlled by your browser. You may read it, destroy it or change it. It cannot have a virus or be executed and is in no way native.
XiTi “Cookies”
The “cookie” files installed by XiTi are completely anonymous and do not include names, postal or e-mail addresses or telephone numbers. They have no information that can identify an internet user by name. Why use cookies?
For internet users, “cookies” are the best way to personalize their browsing. They allow users to often avoid the repetition of certain advertisements and questions, but also to save time on sites where an identifier and/or password are required.
For XiTi and the sites in its network, “cookies” are tools for more detailed and pertinent statistical studies.
“Cookies” can be used to refine JavaScript marker analyses and recognize visitors during their various visits. These “cookies” only store one internet user “identifier” (an identifier that is specific to XiTi) and are in no way used to collect information on the names of visitors.
All of the results obtained are compiled and completely anonymous. They essentially relate to internet user navigation and behavior: the number of visitors, visits, pages viewed, as well as information that consists in items required to measure the various centers of interest of the internet users and thereby improve the sites’ content, form and ergonomics.
In any event, you control these “cookies”: you may read them, filter them, refuse them and destroy them.
How can I destroy “cookie” files already installed on my computer?
Go to your work station
Select the Windows folder in C:\
Open the "Temporary Internet Files" folder
Select all files (CTRL A)
Choose the "delete" option
Once this operation has ended, if you would like to prohibit any future installation of "cookies" files, do as follows:
How to refuse or be warned of the installation of all “cookies” files?
You may decline the saving of "cookies" by configuring your browser as follows:

  • If you browse the internet with Internet Explorer 5 (Microsoft): select “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Security”, “Personalize the Level”, in the pull-down menu, go to “Cookies”, the “Authorize Cookies on your Computer” category, select “Request” if you wish to be warned or “Disable” to refuse all “cookies”.
  • If you browse with Internet Explorer 6 or 7(Microsoft): select “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Confidentiality”, then select the level you wish to apply.
  • If you browse with Firefox: click on “Tools”, “Options”. In “Privacy”, uncheck “Accept cookies from sites”.
